- What is the adidas National Lacrosse Classic?
The adidas National Lacrosse Classic is open to all high school underclassmen boys entering grades 10,11 and 12 next fall 2010. Registered players will participate in an on-field competition to tryout for their regional team. 20 regional teams will play for a national championship July 5-9,2010 in a showcase for college coaches and scouts. The champion will qualify for to play for the Brogden Cup against Canada in Orlando, Florida.
- Is this a club team event?
No. This is not a club team event. It is an individual showcase where players are selected after a tryout session by high school coaches to represent the regional team in the national games.
- Will this event interfere with the high school and club team schedules?
No. The adidas National Lacrosse Classic regional team tryouts and national games have been carefully scheduled as not to conflict with the high school and club team schedules.
- If I play on a club team, can I tryout for my regional adidas team?
Yes. We encourage all high school underclassmen boys entering grades 10,11 and 12 in the fall of 2010 to register to attend the regional team tryout.
- How are players selected to the team?
Up to 25 players are selected to each regional team by high school coaches that evaluate the players during the regional tryout sessions.
- Is an invitation or coaches recommendation needed to tryout?
No invitation or coaches recommendation is required to register for the tryout. Simply register online to participate in yoru regional team tryout.
- Is there team practice?
Not really. The only team practice takes place on July 5th after player check-in at the event. Otherwise, there are no team practices to attend.
- What is the refund policy?
$75 of the player registration fee is non-refundable. No refunds granted 14 days prior to or at any time after the regional tryout. Refund requests must be made in writing 14 days prior to the regional tryout. Check refunds may be processed within 60 days of the tryout date.
- Do players travel together as a team to the National Games?
No. Players travel independent of their regional teams to the National Games. Most players travel with their families. Marriott is the Official Event Hotel for all participants.
- What should a player bring to the National Games?
Players should pack a change of clothes for each day of travel, including but not limited to, shorts, shoes, socks, t-shirts, polo shirts, swim suit, personal care products, extra change of socks and under garments for multiple games, synthetic turf cleats, tennis shoes, extra spending money for travel days, food and event merchandise.
- How many games will be played?
Each team will play a minimum of 4 games with the opportunity to advance to the Elite 8, Final Four and Championship rounds.
- WIll there be college coaches?
Yes. Over 63 college coaches attended the 2009 National Games. A list of colleges will be posted after check-in.
